On April 13 Casey spoke to the wonderful support group, Helping Parents Heal, about his new book WHEN THE VEIL COMES DOWN. He was joined on the call by his good friends and Shining Light Parents, Conrad and Paola Leslie, who together with their son-in-spirit, Nicolas, are featured in the chapters “Gifts From Nick” and “The Choice We Make.” 20-year-old Nicolas, the Leslies only child, was killed in the terrorist attack in Nice, France in July of 2016.

I was introduced to your book by Jae K. I believe we have a mutual friend! I am really enjoying the book and it is a relief and comforting to read about other people’s expanding and paradigm busting experiences after their loss.
I lost my daughter Claire who took her life at the age of 21 in 2018. Like Jimmy she was a creative genius (parent prerogative) and visual artist. I call synchronicities = miracles. Boy, do I have stories! I tell people you don’t believe this shit until it happens to you.
I am a physician and a science believer but this experience, horrible as it is has been, has completely changed my brain and heart. I look and act the same on the outside but carry a totally different belief system about life and death on the inside.
Anyway I am sure you are bombarded with stories and I have not put my experiences into one cohesive story but would love to share. Claire was an organ donor x 4 and that adds a whole extra dimension to our little miracles.
